Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants met personally to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former twice unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Boxer's Mentality
"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK opponent Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial paydays.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.
"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.
Physical Difference
As both boxers participated in the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually happening.
